MEDIA EDUCATION

Has experience working with children and adolescents in educational projects for the media, with the media and by the media. Has special interest in content and discussions related to the field of media education.

CPTV - Centro de Produções de TV e Vídeo do Marista São José

 

Worked for six years in Media Education department of Colégio Marista São José, a place that had the opportunity to develop work with students of different ages, from 08 to 18, promoting the interaction, dialogue, analysis and production of media with the appreciation of creative and communicative power of children and young people, using language and communication technologies .

 

Participated in the planning, managing and executing projects both curricular and multidisciplinary extra-curricular in different media - video of diverse formats (TV news, documentary, fiction, talk show, and others), printed newspaper, radio and web, with the provision of major professional infrastructure equipment such as studio, editing room, cameras and etc.

 

Children and young people were encouraged in their creativity, always as a team, to participate in the different activities "putting their hands on" since the creation stage with brainstorming up to production and post -production, being provoked to critically position themselves towards the world and reflect on content and formats, constructing meaning to the learning .

 

Below, two examples of major projects undertaken:

Full-time project - 1st a 4th grade

 

 

One of the monitors of Media Education workshop with children from 2nd to 5th grade of full-time elementary school of Marista São José School. The project took place in 2003 and 2004.

 

In the workshop, each week, two groups of approximately 30 students each participated in activities aimed at the development of expression and communication in different languages ​​in a playful manner.

 

Comic strip, drawing, mime, physical games, stories, letters, business slogans, newspaper headlines and video production were some of the themes of the workshop., trying to awaken a sensitivity to the media, exercising the imagination, autonomy, cooperation and curiosity of students.At the end of 2003, the children produced an institutional video telling about the their own routine in full-time at school, getting involved in the script production, voiceover, interviews, presentation and all recorded video images.

Internal school newspaper printed bimonthly with production from students and free distribution for all families of the School. Long-term project of CPTV, existing since 1996, whose coordination was under the responsibility of Kelly from 2004-2010.

 

Participation was open to students from 9th Grade until the end of high school. Meeting agenda, division of agendas, verification, articles and columns text production and choice of photos and illustrations were activities performed by the students themselves. The topics ranged from politics, art, culture, science and everyday life, behavior, internal events, film reviews, among others, and made ​​possible to the young to position themselves critically on the facts and events of their day-to-day lives and the world.

 

The newspaper won a televised version (SJ General TV News) during Sports and Cultural school's Olympics.
